Looking for a fun Halloween project to make with the kids? You might try these fun the Halloween Jar Lanterns.

These adorable Halloween Jar Lanterns are made from up-cycled glass jars (like pickle jars). It was a great excuse to clean out the fridge. I soaked the jars over night to remove the labels and then I raided my tissue paper & ribbon stash. You will also need some decoupage (like Mod Podge)

What You Need:

Clean Glass Jar

Tissue Paper

Mod Podge

Battery-Operated Tea Light

Step 1:

Cut tissue paper into strips. (approximately 2 inches)

Step 2:

Cover the outside of  the jar with decoupage then place the  strips vertically over the jar. Press down gently.

Step 3:

Cover the tissue paper with another layer of decoupage and allow to dry.

Step 4:

Wrap a decorative ribbon around the neck and glue.

Step 5:

Draw your design of choice using a permanent marker.

Step 6:

Insert a battery operated tea-light candle.

I opted for the battery operated candles instead of the real candles because I have small children and dogs. As always all crafts should be age appropriate and supervised by adults.
