DIY Nail Whitening Soak

I am always on the hunt for fun Beauty DIYs!  I thought I would give this DIY Nail Whitening Soak a try since I always wear dark nail polish.

Here is a simple soak recipe/directions:

-Lightly buff the top of your nails

-Add 1/2 cup of really warm water in a bowl

-Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda and stir until mostly dissolved (some will settle)

-Add 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide

-Soak nails in the solution for 1-3 minutes.

Did it Work?

Well…I have tried this twice now and each time I did notice a SLIGHT difference. You can definitely see the slight yellow tint on my nails in the photo above.

1 Minute Soak

 2 Minute Soak

3 Minute Soak

Eh, I have to say this made only a subtle difference….more white and less yellow. Now where is my red polish?

Have you given this a try? What did you think? Is this a go or a no?
