French Toast Recipe: Pumpkin Spice French Toast

Welcome to the first installment of my New French Toast Recipe Series. I am so excited about all the variations out there and can’t wait to share my favorites with you.  I love french toast. It is a great, inexpensive breakfast favorite. You can easily put a new spin on this old fave…making you look like a rock star in the kitchen.

If you are looking for a great Thanksgiving Day breakfast idea….I think this Pumpkin Spice French Toast will be a hit. My husband is not a huge pumpkin fan and he loved this.

French Toast Recipe:

Pumpkin Spice French Toast

2 Eggs
2/3 Cup of Cinnamon Creamer
1 Teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice (You can make your own recipe here)
2 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Puree
6 Slices of Frozen Bread (I cut mine into thirds for sticks)

Maple Syrup

This is the Creamer I used…if you want to keep an eye out for it. Nestle Coffee-mate Natural Bliss Cinnamon Cream Flavor. (I found it at my local Bi-Lo)

Tip: Freeze your bread

Take your frozen bread (I like Italian) and cut into thirds if you prefer sticks. I always make sticks because I hang with the 6 and under crowd. I have found freezing the bread makes it hold together better and less likely to become soggy.

Mix: Creamer, Eggs, Pumpkin Pie Spice and Pumpkin Puree in a shallow dish.

Dip your bread into the mixture coating on both sides.

I use a round cast iron griddle (like this one) and I also grease it with real butter. (I am from the South after all). I keep my griddle on low-medium heat.

Place your bread on the griddle. I do my first flip about 30-45 seconds in. Just eye until you get a nice color on the toast.

I serve with maple syrup.

And if you like it…don’t forget to pin it! (The Button to Pin is directly below)

Hi Cathy! Thank you! I was fabulous. I gave up carbs and refined sugar a few months ago…and this recipe now makes me sad. 🙁 I’ll save it for a cheat day. It is really good. Have a great evening. 🙂 -Jessica
